Low Level Laser Therapy (Cold Laser)

Low Level Laser Therapy (Cold Laser) is an FDA approved therapy for the treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.  At a microscopic, cellular level the laser speeds healing and reduces pain.  Kavett Chiropractors has been successfully using the laser for almost fifteen years.

Low Level Laser Therapy has been demonstrated effective due to its photobiological effects on tissues at the cellular level.  The laser is at a frequency of 830 nanometers, which allows penetration into the tissues up to two inches without any heat or tissue damage.  At a microscopic cellular level the mitochondria are stimulated to produce enzymes.  This causes a normalization of tissue, speeds healing and reduces pain.

We have been using the Microlight 830 since 1996 when were accepted to be part of the clinical trials of the device, conducted for the FDA.  We were required to keep detailed records on all patients treated with the unit.  Our results were collected on a regular basis and correlated with the hundreds of other doctors using the device.  In 2003 the FDA gave its approval for the use of Low Level Laser Therapy in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Low Level Laser Therapy is a very effective tool in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.  Any chance that this office could help a patient to avoid wrist surgery is a chance worth pursuing.  Over the past years using the laser therapy, we have reduced the severity and / or totally eliminated carpal tunnel syndrome in many patients.
